Artists sought for ART 64 live painting tournament in Wauwatosa
WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Discover Wauwatosa is accepting applications for ART 64, a live painting competition returning for its fourth year on June 6-7. It will feature 64 artists competing for a $20,000 grand prize in a bracket-style tournament.
The competition takes place in three rounds. In the first, all 64 artists will paint live, with public votes cast in real time to select 32 artists to advance. A second round narrows the field to 16, who will compete in the finals for the top prize.
Each artist is guaranteed at least $100, with larger prizes awarded to those progressing through the tournament.
ART 64's organizers say that the competition drew over 11,000 visitors in 2024, and more than 100 works of art created during the event were sold. Attendees were able to purchase paintings directly from the artists.
Family-friendly activities, live music, food vendors and shopping at local businesses in the Village of Wauwatosa will also be available.
Applications are open to artists over 18 at Art64Tosa.com until midnight on Feb. 28. A jury will determine the 64 participants, with notifications sent on March 21.
