At least 25 dead dogs, 11 dead reptiles found inside Milwaukee home; investigation underway

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are investigating after dozens of dead animals were found inside a home near Villard and Teutonia Avenue Tuesday, Aug. 6. 

According to the Department of Neighborhood Services, at least 25 dead dogs were discovered. They said an exact number of deceased dogs could not be tallied due to the state of the animals. Three emaciated dogs were removed from the property.

The department says an inspector also documented 11 dead reptiles and two dead birds. Two snakes, two turtles, and six geckos were found alive.

Milwaukee police reportedly located seven rifles and three pistols in the home.

The Department of Neighborhood Services says the house is placarded and will likely be razed due to its state. 

Milwaukee police say an investigation is ongoing - they are currently seeking a known suspect.
