MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — Rain did not stop festivalgoers from celebrating African heritage Saturday as Black Arts Fest MKE returned to Henry Maier Festival Park.

The festival featured art, live music, poetry, dance, food and other activities highlighting Black culture and community.

Organizers said they were pleased with the turnout despite the wet weather.

"Celebrating Black culture is amazing," said Terrell Morgan, marketing director for Black Arts Fest MKE. "We are part of a global community, and we all celebrate each other. Being a part of this festival, it's just an honor."

This year's festival also featured its first art show, with paintings and sculptures on display throughout the grounds.

Black Arts Fest MKE runs until 10 p.m. Saturday.
