MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- While the Brewers get ready to finish a four-game series at home Monday night, American Family Field has some big plans for after the season.

For the first time in the venue's history, it'll be hosting major college basketball games.

We've seen baseball, soccer and concerts here, but this November will be pretty special. The center of the infield will turn into a basketball court, with the Wisconsin Badgers' men's and women's programs each playing an extremely unique game.

They'll bring in some temporary stands for an electric start to the college basketball season. The beauty of American Family Field is whether it's raining or just too cold in Wisconsin this November, the roof can close.

Wisconsin men's basketball coach Greg Gard says playing a game at AmFam was a dream nearly 15 years in the making.

"This is going to have massive venue feel, which is what you want," Gard said. "It's a regional final, Final Four type of feel. Hopefully that inspires visions and motivations for further down the road."

"You know, we just feel really fortunate to be able to put our program on this type of stage and give our players an opportunity to see what you can do when you come and play at a place like Wisconsin," said Wisconsin women's basketball coach Marisa Moseley.

Coach Gard says he's hoping the Brew City Battle is not a one time thing and they'd consider doing it going forward.

Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, July 26 at noon.
