Brewers designate Logan Boone for assignment

The Brewers have designated reliever Logan Boone for assignment. The move comes to make room for Freddy Peralta, who was promoted to the big league club.

Boone had pitched just 10 2/3 innings this season with a 5.91 ERA. Boone signed a one-year $2.5 million contract with the Brewers this off season. The Brewers now have seven days to trade Boone. If the Brewers do not trade him, they can assign the southpaw to the minor leagues, but Boone has the right to refuse the assignment, which would force the Brewers to release him.
