MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Do you remember your first bicycle? The excitement of taking it out of the box? The shiny new wheels and bright colors?

Lillyana Collins will always remember her first bike. She helped build it.

"I definitely remember my first bike. Getting it for Christmas, it was like a burnt orange Mongoose bike with pegs on it," said Brandon Woodruff, pitcher for the Brewers.

When you think of American Family Field, you think of baseball. That wasn't the case Tuesday morning. For just one afternoon, American Family Field became a bike shop. One-hundred bikes were put together by ball players who consider themselves seasoned professionals.

"This is my eighth year in Milwaukee, and we’ve done this every year and it’s a blast," said Woodruff. "I know what to look for. I know how to put these things together.”

In partnership with Impact 4 Good, the bicycles will end up in the hands of the children who helped build them. Each child is part of three local nonprofits -- La Causa, Northcott Neighborhood House and Urban Ecology Center.

“When I got on it and I tried to ride with the training wheels, I just tipped over and my bike crashed," said Collins.

If you ask Woodruff, there's more than just a bike being built here.

“Being able to provide a bike for these kids is pretty cool. It kind of brings you back to your childhood and seeing the smile on their face is worth it," said Woodruff.

It's the kind of smile that won't be tipping over.

“It went awfully amazing," Collins. "And that’s gonna be it for today. Peace out.”
