CEDARBURG, Wis. (CBS 58) -- When it comes to festive holiday fun, the City of Cedarburg knows how to deliver.

"Just in the winter weather walking around, the candles lit, having a drink and being with family,” said Gabrielle Furlin, a Festive Friday Eves attendee.

During the holiday season, Cedarburg brings a taste of the north pole to southeastern Wisconsin.

"Cedarburg, it really looks like a hallmark town, so it’s fun," said Rachel Petermann a Festive Friday Eves attendee. "I’m excited to walk up and down the streets looking at the window displays and the lights that are out and stuff like that.”

Festive Friday Eves means Santa and Miss Claus aren't the only ones hard at work.

“It definitely helps having the number of people in Cedarburg stopping in to see what we have and looking at things, they never knew we had," said Patricia Armbruster the owner of Armbruster Jewelers. "So, it is very helpful.”

Local stores filled with loyal and new customers, receiving a major business boom.

“I would say during the Christmas time it’s very busy, especially on the Fridays," said Campbell Schleicher, an employee at Ashley's Confectionery. "A lot of people out of town come, it’s always good."

Hundreds of people from across Wisconsin and visitors from out of state embraced all the city has to offer.

“I really love when people from super far away come out," said Lydia Hoffman, an employee at Ashley's Confectionery. "They’re like oh I’m from here, and I’m like oh my gosh that’s crazy.”

Theres plenty of shopping, warm hot chocolate and good eats, but those attending say the best part is making holiday memories with those they love most.

“I think it’s just really important to be with friends and family and be able to enjoy just like the Christmas spirit with just again all the lights and people around," said Catherine Kosloske, an attendee. "People just getting out and enjoying each other's company.”
