Crews respond to unresponsive swimmer in Pleasant Prairie, 19-year-old hospitalized

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 19-year-old male swimmer was reported unresponsive while swimming on Friday, Aug. 2.

It happened around 4:41 p.m. at Lake Andrea in Prairie Springs Park. 

 Bystanders retrieved the 19-year-old and brought him to shore.

Pleasant Prairie Fire and Rescue arrived around 4:44 p.m. and initiated advanced life saving measures. The swimmer remained unresponsive and was transported to a local hospital, where he continues to receive medical care, according to Pleasant Prairie Fire and Rescue. 

The patient's name has not been released.
