Racine County Sheriff's Office

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Racine man is charged with criminal trespassing and damage to property after prosecutors say he broke into the apartment of a coworker who said she woke to find him sleeping in her bed.

It happened back in November of 2025.

Prosecutors say 39-year-old Ernesto Hernandez had worked with the woman for about a week.

According to the criminal complaint, investigators located doorbell video that shows Hernandez repeatedly knocking on the woman's door, then "throwing his bodyweight" at it and "possibly kicking it from the rear."

Court records show Hernandez is due in court Oct. 27.
