Father's Day fashion show participants model clothing made by senior center's sewing group
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The United Community Center's (UCC) senior center was packed Friday morning, for the first-ever Father's Day fashion show, featuring music, dancing, and some handsome models.
The sewing group at the center has been working on clothing for this show for more than a month so the dads would look good.
Judy Hernandez showed us the shirt she made. She's taking sewing lessons at UCC to help recover from heart surgery.
"For me, it was something to get my mind working," Hernandez said. "My fingers. I had to retrain my whole body, actually, to start over again, so this was a big move for me."
Some of the dads who modeled the new clothing did a little strutting for us and a senior dance group performed. There were lots of smiles in the crowd, and no hiding the pride among the women who created these outfits.
