Few isolated showers possible this weekend after Thursday's soaking rain

NOW: Few isolated showers possible this weekend after Thursday’s soaking rain

Thursday was a soaker! Especially in the morning when we had steady, heavy rain falling and rain totals pushed over an inch in spots. We did see a few more light showers the rest of the Thursday, and some of those showers are continuing into Friday. Rain totals Thursday ranged from 0.50-1.00" for most of southeast Wisconsin with Madison getting almost 2" of rain and breaking a record for daily rainfall.

That soaking rain really helped our precipitation deficit for the year even though April ended over an inch below average on rain for the month. We are still over 0.60" below average on precipitation for 2025.

A little more rain is expected throughout the weekend. Friday morning saw a round of mostly light showers. A sprinkle can't be ruled out during the day Friday with another chance for isolated showers Friday evening and Friday night. There is also a slight chance for some showers Saturday, mainly in the morning in southern counties with best chances near the IL border, and Sunday afternoon and night.

Some areas could stay totally dry all weekend long, so don't cancel your outdoor plans, just keep the umbrella on standby. Rain totals for those that do see the rain won't amount to much with only a tenth to quarter inch of rain.
