Finally! We saw rain in southeast Wisconsin Thursday night into Friday morning for the first time in two weeks and our biggest rain in three weeks! A few northwest counties saw the rain as early as 11 PM Thursday night but Milwaukee didn't get any rainfall until after midnight making Thursday our 14th dry day in a row! That is the longest dry streak of the year and the longest since a 17 day stretch from the end of May into the beginning of June last year.
The rainfall Thursday night wasn't big but at least we got something with 0.10-0.30" of rain falling across most of southeast Wisconsin.
Most of us would a little more rain and we will get it as we head into the weekend. Autumn begins on Sunday with the fall equinox happening at 7:43 AM on September 22nd.
The start to fall will be a little wet with scattered showers and some downpours expected from the morning through the afternoon. The exact timing of the rain is a bit in question but expect at least something throughout the day and maybe even as early as Saturday evening.
The rainfall Sunday with some lingering into Monday will be a bit more of a soaker as most of southeast Wisconsin will see around a half inch with some isolated communities getting as much as an inch or more.
