WEST BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A former Froedtert Hospital employee will spend the next four decades in prison after pleading guilty to serious charges, including stalking and child pornography.

Investigators said 47-year-old Steven James Weis lived at 660 Tamarack Drive when he was caught exposing himself to children and taking photos of teens using the apartment pool.

When charges were filed against him last July, prosecutors said Weis stalked his neighbors and their children.

A computer search later revealed more than 10,000 images he'd taken of the victims going about their everyday lives, including dozens inside of their bedrooms.

But after that search, investigators then uncovered a multi-year hidden camera scheme at Froedtert Hospital in West Bend, where he'd worked in IT since 1995.

Weis told officials he had installed a small camera inside of an employee bathroom that he'd take home at the end of each day.

During the time it was up, he filmed nearly 100 different female employees, admitting his intent was "to capture nudity" but also said that he had never received consent.

Officials later found a safe in his bedroom closet filled with tapes and hard drives, plus strands of hair he'd collected from victims and their used feminine hygiene products.

He said he wanted to “have something of an intimate nature from somebody, that’s it. Having something normally won’t be able to have," court documents revealed.

Weis also admitted he had tampered with some of his female coworkers' food, drink, and personal equipment with his bodily fluids.

He pled no contest to 31 counts and was sentenced last week to 44 years in prison with 35 years of extended supervision.
