WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Prairie Junction Farms was started by the Coulman family in 2018. They raised pigs, chickens and turkeys to feed their family and offer to other people. Two years later, they branched out to sell a family toffee recipe.

"Crazy, right?" said Sarah Coulman. "Well, we've been making toffee for 20 something years for family and friends."

It was always a hit at family Christmas parties, but it took a leap of faith to make it into the successful business it is today.

in 2022, the Coulmans won second place in the world for their toffee. They continue to make their toffee in small batches at Chef Pam's Shared Kitchen in Waukesha.

CBS 58 was there this morning as the kitchen heated up.
