Get to know the Badgers football 2022 class: CB A'Khoury Lyde

The team was without Rachad Wildgoose in 2021 and this year, they will be without both Faion Hicks and Caesar Williams, as all departed for the NFL.

However, along with some transfers, the Badgers have five new corners coming in, including Lyde.

Player Summary:

Lyde had four offers from Big Ten schools, including Wisconsin, Michigan State, Indiana and Maryland.

Like defensive lineman Curtis Neal, Lyde also suffered a season-ending injury. But the offers were still there for both talented players. Lyde was also one of the six recruits that were enrolled for spring ball.

Lyde is a player with impressive hands and terrific vision. One trait of his that stands out is the way he finishes plays. There were times when many thought the receiver was going to catch the ball, sometimes quite easily. But Lyde's vision and explosiveness are what became so crucial for opposing receivers.

Speaking of receivers, Lyde was also a pass-catcher in high school and he did an exceptional job creating separation with his defenders. He put up 413 receiving yards and six touchdowns during his time as a wide receiver.

The Badgers have a talented room of corners that are loaded with potential. Despite the key losses at that position over the past two seasons, they certainly have the talent to replace it.
