Giannis named Eastern Conference Player of The Month
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) - The NBA announced on Thursday, Jan. 4, that Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for December.
This is the 10th Player of the Month Award in his career, his third in the month of December, and his first since March of last season.
The Bucks went 11-2 in December with the most points per game in December in NBA history with 131.5 points per game. During that stretch, Antetokounmpo averaged 32.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game while shooting 61.6% from the field to lead the way.
The month featured a couple of franchise record-setting performances for Antetokounmpo. He scored the most points in a single game in franchise history with 64 against the Indiana Pacers on Dec. 13 and passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most rebounds in franchise history on Dec. 17. Antetokounmpo also picked up two his three triple-double this season in December.
Currently Antetokounmpo is fourth in NBA in points per game with 30.8 points, adding 11.3 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game. The Bucks are 24-10 and second in the Eastern Conference.
