GREENFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The city of Greenfield's police chief, Jay Johnson, has been placed on paid leave as of last Friday, April 25.
In a statement, the mayor's office said the city is conducting "an independent review of recent workplace concerns."
But because the issue is a personnel matter, they have not provided more details.
They went on to say, "Our priority is to ensure a thorough, fair process and to maintain the continued safety and effective service of the Greenfield Police Department for our community."
We learned Thursday that Assistant Police Chief Eric Lindstrom was voted in as the new acting chief of the Greenfield Police Department Wednesday night.
