'Helping all vets live an epic life': Sierra Delta pairs veterans with service dog training

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Sierra Delta, a nonprofit founded by veteran BJ Ganem, provides grants to help veterans train dogs for a range of needs, from companionship to specialized skills. Ganem launched the organization after recovering from injuries and recognizing the role his own dog played in his recovery.

The nonprofit’s Life Buddy program funds training for veterans who already have or plan to adopt a dog. It does not match veterans with dogs or trainers but offers guidance throughout the process. Any veteran, regardless of combat experience or disability status, is eligible.

Ganem and Sierra Delta ambassador Lee Otto, a past grant recipient, joined us to talk about the program on Tuesday, March 25.
