The holiday weekend is here! Are you ready for Christmas? We want you to be ready for the chill! But, at least travel into the start of the weekend is quiet. Saturday will provide clouds with some sun breaks and a northwest breeze. Highs will be cooler staying mostly in the upper 20s. Sunday will be cool too, with a chance for some light snow.
Here's what we're tracking. An area of low pressure centered over Idaho late Friday night. This storm will slide just south of Wisconsin for Sunday, Christmas Eve, but looks to brush our southern location with some light snow.
Locations from Milwaukee and points south will see a small window for light snow right over the noon hour. If you have travel that takes you into Chicago, Detroit, or Indy, plan on snow and some slippery stretches on roads. The city of Milwaukee will likely just see a dusting. At this point it does not look to be enough for a White Christmas.
But what about Christmas day. Behind Sunday's system, conditions look to turn cold and breezy. With northwest wind around 15mph, wind chills will be in the single-digits and teens during the afternoon. All the more reason to cuddle up to loved ones this holiday!
Travel after the holiday is cold, but quiet. The next chance for light snow arrives next Thursday.
Merry Christmas everybody - Rebecca
