I-94 traffic switch coming in October, General Mitchell ramps closing

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Road construction is nothing new in the area, but some changes are taking place, leaving many to wonder how that traffic could impact fans trying to see the Brewers at American Family Field in the playoffs.

Sean Race of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation joined us Tuesday, Sept. 22 with updates on the I-94 East-West Freeway project.

He said that crews have finished pouring new eastbound pavement near Hawley Road, with traffic set to shift onto it during a switch in early October. As part of that shift, the General Mitchell Boulevard ramps to and from the west will close through spring 2027, though they'll reopen temporarily for Brewers home playoff games.
