MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Police are still looking for suspects after a burglary and shooting in Menomonee Falls on Sunday morning.
At 2:42 a.m. the Menomonee Falls Police Department responded to the W136 N6000 Block of Weyer Farm Drive for a report of a person with a gunshot wound.
Police say two suspects had entered the victim's home. One of the two people confronted the victim and shot them. The victim was taken to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
“I’m pretty shocked, this is a nice neighborhood," said Andre Lorenzen, who has lived in this community in Menomonee Falls for eight years. "It’s pretty quiet and there’s a lot of good people here.”
Neighbors like Lorenzen say there typically aren't noises like police sirens and gunshots in his neighborhood.
“It’s sad. I hope everything’s okay. The guy who got shot, I hope he does well," said Pat Grady, who lives in the area.
CBS 58 spoke with people who live in the house where this took place. They confirmed the two people who entered their home were aiming to take a car from their property. They did not speak to CBS 58 for an interview.
Police are in the early days of their investigation. If you have any information or video of this incident, authorities are asking people to call the Menomonee Falls Police Department at 262-532-8700
