John Axford to be inducted into Brewers Wall of Honor

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Brewers have announced that former closer John Axford will be inducted into the Brewers Wall of Honor during the 2025 season. The announcement was made by the team on Monday, Jan. 27.

The Wall of Honor recognizes players, coaches and executives for their service to the organization and career achievements. Axford will receive a bronze plaque affixed to the exterior of the ballpark.

Axford played six seasons with the Brewers (2009-13, 2021) and ranks third in franchise history with 106 saves. He holds the franchise’s single season saves record (46) and consecutive saves record (43), both set during the 2011 season.

During that 2011 season, Axford tied for the National League lead in saves and won the NL Rolaids Relief Man of the Year award.
