Advice to prepare for Latin Music Day at Summerfest 💃
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- This is the last weekend of Summerfest 2023, and it is wrapping up with some sazón, also known as spice in Spanish.
The audience will hear music from all over Latin America: a little bit of bachata, reggaeton and, of course, salsa on Friday, July 7.
Aurora Health Care and Telemundo Wisconsin are presenting Latin Music Day at Summerfest on Friday at the Briggs & Stratton Big Back Yard stage at noon.
This special day will pay tribute to Latin culture with live performances throughout the afternoon and will feature artists and groups such as Caribbean Sounds, Ecuador Manta, Caché MKE, Salsabrositas, Carlos Adames and Tito Puente Jr.
The fun continues with the headliner, Grupo Niche. They are one of the most famous Latino bands in the world, with millions of fans. In fact, the group was the first Colombian salsa group in history to win a Grammy.
While they started in the '70s, the group keeps adding new members and keeps up with current music with an aim to get the crowd off its feet.
For a quick tutorial on how to salsa before heading out to the "Big Gig," there are basically two steps to know: start with your feet together, move your right foot out, step your left foot in place, bring your right foot in, and repeat on the left. So, left foot out, right foot tap, left foot together. Repeat: Right, left, together, left, right, together. Now, you're ready to go!
In addition to the music on Latin Music Day, the Summerfest event will also feature several family-friendly activities, delicious food, entertainment, and much more.
