MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) - Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church started collecting donations on Monday with the help of some beloved Brewers players and Forward Latino.
On Friday, July 3, at 3 p.m., organizers officially stopped collecting donations after filling thousands of boxes and cases of water.
The pastor at Blessed Sacrament Church, as well as members of the congregation, have been directly affected by the devastation. As they process the emotions of the situation, Father Norberto Sandoval said it's been helpful to see the community support — from donations to volunteers.
On Friday, dozens of volunteers helped organize donations.
On Monday, July 6, a semi will take the donations to Miami, where they will be shipped to Venezuela.
