MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Republican National Convention may be over, but Milwaukee's summer events are still going strong -- from ethnic festivals to Wisconsin traditions.

Starting bright and early Monday morning through Sunday, the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) kicks off in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

"AirVenture" is the largest airshow in the world.

Last year, nearly 700,000 aviation enthusiasts attended, with more than 10,000 aircraft.

Back to here in the city, the annual Harley Davidson Homecoming Festival starts Thursday, July 25.

Attendees can expect events at multiple venues in Milwaukee, including the Harley Davidson Museum and Veterans Park, where musical artists like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jelly Roll, and Cypress Hill are set to perform.

The fest is celebrating Harley Davidson's 121st year and brings in visitors from all over the world.

On Friday, July 26, the Summerfest grounds will be packed with all things German.

The 42nd annual German Fest is not only a popular Milwaukee tradition, but one of the largest German festivals in the country.

While it only runs through the weekend, fest goers can expect authentic food, drink, dancing, and music.

Lastly, Milwaukee's air and water show starts Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

Staged above and in Lake Michigan off of the McKinley and Bradford beaches, this rain-or-shine show is free to attend.

Among the dozens of acts, the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds are set to perform for the first time since 2019.
