MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It's the final day for a local bakery.
Lopez Bakery and Restaurant served Mexican food in Milwaukee.
They opened in 1973 and after 50 years, the owner is closing its doors on Sunday, Jan. 14.
Lopez says since Covid, it's been difficult to keep up with inflation.
"It's a mixed range of emotions. There's a lot of sadness, there's a lot of joy and happiness, there's a little apprehension, and there's a little bit uncertainty," said Jorge Lopez, owner of Lopez Bakery and Restaurant.
But good news for those who frequently visited the bakery, Lopez says La Casa De Pan will be taking over.
For now, Lopez says he will be taking some personal time, maybe doing some traveling, and spending time with family.
