Man accused of assaulting victim with knife while attempting to steal dog in Walworth County

WALWORTH COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 52-year-old man was taken into custody Friday, after officials say he assaulted a female victim with a knife while attempting to take her dog. 

According to the Walworth County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to Pioneer Estates mobile home park in the Town of Darien just before 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5. 

Residents were advised to stay indoors after witnesses reported the suspect fled to a home within the park.

The Walworth County SWAT Team and K-9 unit were dispatched to the home, and the suspect was taken into custody. 

Authorities say the suspect had a felony warrant out of Rockford, IL for failing to appear in court. 

The female victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated and released.
