MCSO releases description of vehicle linked to shots fired incident on I-43 southbound

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate a report of shots fired on southbound I-43 Sunday, Oct. 27, and has released a description of a vehicle believed to be involved.

Investigators are seeking information regarding a small, beige or silver-colored sedan with small, round headlights, which was reported to have been flashing its high beams while traveling on southbound I-43 north of Silver Spring Drive.

Individuals traveling on southbound I-43 south of Mequon Road between 7:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. Sunday night may have information useful to MCSO.  Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities at 414-278-4788.

"When incidents do occur -- violent or otherwise --  we need the public to address it by calling 911 or reporting it us. There are potentially incidents, not unlike this one, where you have something that may or may not have occurred and now we have to work to find that information and if no one comes forward or provides that information it gets very difficult," said Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office Deputy Inspector Daniel Hughes.

The shots fired incident was reported by a driver whose minivan had sustained damage to the front driver-side window.

No injuries were reported.

"What we are doing now is we have concentrated our available resources to the area of I-43 roughly between National and Capitol Drive during different parts of the day, different portions of the day to essentially increase our high visibility patrols within that area," said Hughes, in response to this being the third reported shots incident on I-43 in less than two weeks.

"We are out there patrolling, not only I-43, but all of the freeways within the footprint of Milwaukee county."
