Onalaska man stabbed to death during fight in West Allis

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A quiet West Allis neighborhood is shocked after an argument left a 33-year-old man from Onalaska dead. It happened near 71st and Becher just before 2 a.m. Surveillance video from people who live nearby show of the moment police arrived.
Witnesses in this neighborhood say the argument was so loud it woke them up. They called police when they say things began to take a turn for the worst.
A doorbell camera show police surrounding an area of South 71st Street. Neighbors say they were afraid after hearing a loud argument outside their door.
"I was trying to make out what they were saying and what they were arguing about," said a witness who wished to stay anonymous. "I was afraid to open up a window too at the same time because I didn't wanna draw attention to myself."
West Allis police say two groups of people were arguing. Neighbors say they saw and heard the situation escalate.
"He pushed his bike into the grass and said to the one guy 'don't mess with me' and then he went to grab him. By that time I ran to my phone and i started to dial 911," said a witness.
"I heard an argument that woke me up and then I heard something break, then I heard punches and then i just called 911 right away," said another witness.
Cameras didn't capture when the man was stabbed. Surveillance video show first responders working to keep the 33-year-old man alive but he died at the scene.
"I feel bad it's a victim with a similar age as me, you know going about his regular day, talking to family and friends, and he didn't realize that would be his last day," said a neighbor.
"I mean that's just so young, you know? You don't know if he's got a wife, a girlfriend, any children, and his parents," said a witness.
Police say the suspects ran off after the stabbing and have not been caught.
Neighbors say they're still in shock.
"Something like this, I mean it doesn't happen here in West Allis, and we are very shocked, very shocked," said a neighbor.
"It's really quiet, everybody's friendly and nice, I was shocked, I'm shocked," adds another neighbor.
Police say this is an ongoing investigation, but there is no danger to the public.

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 33-year-old man was fatally stabbed near 71st and Becher around 2 a.m. on Sunday.
According to the West Allis Police Department, the stabbing stemmed from a fight between two groups of people.
Lifesaving efforts were made but the man died from his injuries on scene.
The investigation remains ongoing.

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner is currently investigating a 'suspicious death' that happened near 71st and Becher.
According to the Medical Examiner, they were called to the scene for one deceased individual around 3 a.m. on Sunday.
The Medical Examiner is not releasing the age or gender of the victim.
West Allis Police have not yet released any circumstances surrounding the death.
