Mequon's Jewish Food Festival next week brings cuisine and culture to the table
MEQUON (CBS 58) -- You have the opportunity to open up your mind and taste buds by attending the annual Jewish Festival on Sunday, Aug. 6 and Monday, Aug. 7 at Rotary Park in Mequon.
The event features a wide variety of traditional Jewish foods, including matzo ball soup, doughy potato or meat filled treats known as knishes, hot dogs and classic pastrami sandwiches.
There are also educational activities like egg bread or challah braiding, musical performances, face painting and even a petting zoo.
Organizers say food is the common bond tying us all together, no matter your background. The annual Jewish Food Festival runs from noon until 7 p.m. at 4100 W. Highland Road in Mequon. It's free to attend, as well.
