Miller High Life searching for first honorary 'mayor' of Milwaukee region
Molson Coors MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Miller High Life announced a search Tuesday, July 14 for the first honorary mayor of the city's "Champagne of Beers" region, an area around the historic Miller Brewery that Milwaukee's Common Council designated in 2021.
Applicants must be Milwaukee residents 25 or older and can apply online through Aug. 23. A judging panel will select a winner based on their personal story and connection to Miller High Life, according to the company.
The winner will be sworn in on Sept. 19 at the Miller Visitor's Center and will receive a $2,000 check, a dinner for eight at Miller Caves, branded merchandise and two cases of Miller High Life.
The honorary role's duties are limited to the inauguration ceremony.
Commemorative merchandise designed by local artist Fred Kaems will also be sold at the visitor's center, with proceeds benefiting the Milwaukee Parks Foundation.
