This all stems back to recent flooding, with many blaming the uncollected leaves for clogging street drains.

Now, two alders are already pushing back. 

In a statement, Alder LaMont Westmoreland said the change wasn't discussed or voted on at a committee meeting, saying that's "unacceptable." 

Alderman Scott Spiker also put out a statement, saying bagging leaves puts a physical and financial burden on the elderly and people with limitations. 

Responding to claims that leaves clogged drains, Spiker says the city "overreacted" with a major policy change, and he plans to try to reverse it.
