MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The City of Milwaukee has launched MKE GO, an initiative encouraging residents to try transportation options other than driving alone, aiming to address rising transit costs, parking shortages and construction navigation.

The program, funded through Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality dollars, runs as a pilot from 2026 through 2028, with its first focus area centered on the Menomonee Valley and surrounding neighborhoods.

It offers information, personalized support, incentives and connections to existing transportation services to help residents, employees and employers find options that fit their daily trips.

The city says it hopes to expand the initiative to other neighborhoods after the pilot period ends in 2028.
