'I want him to get the maximum sentence': Family speaks out against Milwaukee man accused of killing 3 people in one night
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 26-year-old Milwaukee man is accused of killing three people in Milwaukee on the same night.
Michael Williams has been charged with three counts of first-degree intentional homicide.
"You killed my brother for no reason and I’m very mad and I’m hurt cause there’s no reason for you to do that," said Marcus Smith's sister. "You killed him for nothing, for nothing."
Surveillance video shows the first shooting happened near 27th and Atkinson around 9:20 p.m, after police say Williams shot Smith and then chased the second victim, Sandra Lee with a gun and then shot her. The video then shows what police say is Williams's shadow as he repeatedly beats her.
“I want him to get the maximum sentence," said Smith's sister. "If they could give him 500 years, I want him to get the maximum sentence. The maximum."
Police say Williams then ran a few blocks over, shooting and killing a third person Lakendrick Roby, who they found in a car along 31st and Courtland around an hour later.
The criminal complaint reveals when taken into custody, Williams said quote "He did the city a favor."
Police interviewed Williams nephew, who said Williams has been having mental health and drug abuse issues, saying Williams threatened to kill him and other family members.
If convicted, Willliams could face life in prison, something Smith's sister says will never be enough to give true justice to her brother and the two others killed.
“He means the world to me and it’s crazy and he's gone," said Smith's sister.
He's due in court for an initial appearance Oct. 24.
