Milwaukee man sentenced to 18 years behind bars for fatal shooting at flag football game

CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Gavino Avalos-Morales, a 32-year-old man found guilty in a fatal shooting at a youth flag football game, has learned his fate.
At a hearing on Friday, May 8, Avalos-Morales was sentenced to 18 years behind bars with ten years of extended supervision.
The shooting happened on Oct. 12 of 2024 at MPS South Stadium. Raysean Barnes, 47, was killed.
Video surveillance captured the shooting, per a criminal complaint.
Avalos-Morales was found guilty of first degree reckless homicide, discharge of a firearm in a school zone, and possession of a firearm on grounds of a school.
