Milwaukee police: 6-year-old suffers graze wound after accidentally discharging gun

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Police are investigating after a 6-year-old child suffered a graze wound near 25th and Keefe on Thursday, April 16.

Authorities say the child got a hold of a firearm inside the residence around 2:57 p.m. and accidentally discharged it.

Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the upcoming days against a 79-year-old woman.

The police department would like to remind everyone to secure firearms with a gun lock or in a secure location to keep them out of the reach of children.
