WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The principal of Milwaukee's Institute of Technology and Academics is facing criminal charges after allegedly driving under the influence and attempting to flee law enforcement.

Blaire Busack is charged with OWI - fourth offense, attempting to flee or elude an officer, and operating a motor vehicle while revoked.

According to the criminal complaint, a motorist in Washington County flagged down a Village of Kewaskum police officer around 6:30 p.m. March 11 and said that a vehicle in the area was driving "erratically."

Prosecutors say the officer pursued the driver-later identified as Busack- for several blocks, and Busack would not stop for the police. The officer reported Busack was going over 80 mph, almost crashing into oncoming traffic, and failing to maintain lane stability.

The chase ended when Busack hit the northbound guardrail, and the car rolled backwards into the southbound ditch, according to the complaint. Police say Busack refused to perform standardized field sobriety tests or to submit a preliminary breath test, and a search warrant for a blood draw was received and conducted later that night.

Court records show Busack has three prior OWI convictions from over the last two decades which have led to operating privileges being revoked.

A hearing is scheduled for April 16.
