MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — Travelers flying out of Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport now have a new option to speed up the check-in process.

The airport has launched Premium Bag Check in partnership with Metropolis, allowing passengers to check their luggage near the Airport Information Desk instead of waiting in line at their airline's ticket counter.

The service costs $4 per bag, in addition to any airline baggage fees, and is designed to make the travel experience more convenient, especially during busy travel periods.

"As we continue investing in the future of travel at MKE, it's important that we provide services that make the journey easier, more convenient, and more seamless for our passengers," Airport Director Brian Dranzik said.

Premium Bag Check is available daily from 3 a.m. to 11 p.m. for passengers flying on Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and Frontier Airlines.
