More than 28,000 vehicles with unpaid, overdue tickets in Milwaukee could be towed starting in January

CBS 58

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Coming up in the new year, anyone with five or more unpaid Milwaukee parking tickets more than 60 days overdue could have their car towed thanks to a city ordinance passed in October.

Under the habitual parking violator ordinance, vehicles meeting these criteria may be towed effective Jan. 1, 2026.

The Department of Public Works (DPW) says this applies to more than 28,000 drivers, who should have received a notice in the mail.

They say more than 400 people have already settled their debt, bringing in nearly $90,000.

If this applies to you, check your notice for payment plan details or scheduled court hearings.
