MPD: 45-year-old man dies after being struck by hit-and-run driver near 23rd and Center

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Police say a man who died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver near 23rd and Center walked into the road and collapsed, before being struck.

Originally it was thought that the victim was struck by two vehicles -- however, according to a criminal complaint, surveillance from a nearby church showed the victim fall in the street prior to being struck by one vehicle.

A suspect has been charged in the man's death.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 45-year-old man is dead after being struck by two hit-and-run drivers near North 23rd and Center early Tuesday, May 5. 

Authorities were called to the scene around 12:49 a.m.

According to police, a 60-year-old man driving the second vehicle, was later found and arrested. Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the upcoming days.
