Congratulations, you made it through the first heat wave of summer! High temperatures reached the 90s for four straight days from Sunday through Wednesday. During that time we broke/tied two temperature records - the high temp on Monday tied the record, and the warmest low temp Tuesday shattered the record.
A cold front rolled through Wednesday evening and now the lake breeze has arrived. That lake breeze will keep temperatures down on Thursday with highs lakeside in the low 70s and upper 70s to around 80 away from the lakefront.
Even though it's about 20 degrees cooler than the 90s we had to kick off the week, the humidity will stay noticeable. Dew points Thursday hang out in the mid 60s which means muggy at times. Even muggier conditions return Friday then the tropical level stickiness is back on Saturday.
A light jacket is not out of the question if you're heading down to Summerfest for the first day of the Big Gig. Also don't forget the rain chances. Some steady light to moderate rain is falling Thursday morning. Most of the steady rain should wrap up by the time the Summerfest gates open at noon but a few isolated showers or storms are possible Thursday afternoon and evening.
Download the CBS 58 Ready Weather app to track the temps as well as the interactive radar for the rain.
