MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Hunger Task Force opened a new location at the Midtown Center on Milwaukee's northwest side Tuesday, July 20.
The new food share and resource center is called Alicia's Place.
Alicia Williams is a longtime advocate with the Hunger Task Force.
Organizers say anyone is welcome, but the north side site will primarily serve the Black and Hmong communities.
Assistance will be available in several languages.
"The farther north and west you get in the city, and here we are on the northwest side, the fewer and fewer resources there are available to people," said Common Council President Cavalier Johnson. "And we cannot forget there is a whole lot of city outside of downtown."
Alicia's Place will be open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
