UW-Milwaukee students present exciting ideas for I-794 change
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- On Friday, June 3, younger children and their parents cut the ribbon on a brand new playground in Milwaukee's Washington Park.
Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley and members of the Milwaukee County Board were in attendance.
Kids had a great time breaking in the new slide, the new swings, and new climbing equipment.
The playground replaces one that was installed in 2000, which was one of the oldest in the Milwaukee County Parks System.
A Milwaukee County spokesperson said his own child would approve.
"When my kid spends a lot of time outside, when Luka spends a lot of time outside, we get better sleep at night. We're more productive the next day. He's usually in a better mood, so we're in a better mood after that," said Eddie Cullen, communications manager for Milwaukee County Board.
The new Washington Park playground includes features that are accessible to kids with disabilities, and the surfaces under the equipment are softer and safer than sand.
