Some incredible stories emerged from Thursday's graduation ceremony at the Milwaukee Police Academy.
58 men and women marking the end of a training process that started back in December of 2016.
Excited families and city leaders gathered to cheer them on.
Some whose commitment to become a police officer was tested.
Jennifer Beamon, for example, overcame abuse and homelessness and now wears a badge.
"It was a rough journey," Officer Beamon told CBS 58 News. "I had some bumps in the road. I applied in 2014. I had to keep working out. Get myself ready to go. Got the call in 2016 that I was accepted and here I am!"
