Niebrugge grabs first professional title

VANCOUVER --Jordan Niebrugge of Mequon won the Freedom 55 Financial Open, the season-opening tournament of the PGA Tour Canada in Vancouver, Sunday.

The victory is the first-ever as a professional for Niebrugge, a 2014 graduate of Homestead High School in Mequon.

 “Yesterday was a big day for me! It was great to get my first professional win under my belt on @PGATOURCanada!” Niebrugge tweeted, “Thank you everyone for all the amazing support and hopefully there are many more Ws to follow!”

The 24-year-old shot an even-par 72 and finished at 16-under 272, two shots clear of second place.
