MPD: Overnight shooting leaves 1 dead near 24th and Pierce

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that took place near 24th and Pierce around 10:40 p.m. September 9.

A 39-year-old woman-identified by the medical examiner's office Tuesday as Natalie Ramos-Rodriguez- sustained a fatal gunshot wound. First responders conducted lifesaving measures that were ultimately unsuccessful, and the victim was declared dead at the scene.

A 29-year-old suspect was taken into custody.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation. Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office.
