‘Praying we get through tonight’: Horicon braces for more storms after Wednesday wind damage

Roofs were ripped off apartment buildings in the city’s downtown area along Highway 33.
“The apartment next to us I guess the whole roof, the whole ceiling caved in, that was about 10 feet away from me,” Horicon resident Tyler Wagner said.
A section of Highway 33 remains closed off Wednesday night, due to concerns of additional damage.
“We don’t want kids walking down the sidewalk and a building falling on top of them,” Mayor Josh Maas said.
With potential storms in the forecast, Maas is eyeing what’s next for the city.
“We’re gonna be worrying about the integrity of downtown and just praying we get through tonight and tomorrow night,” Maas said. “What are we gonna do when the next round comes in at 9 and then another round tomorrow of the same stuff?”
