Windy Friday then a chance for frost this weekend
WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee area's newest ice rink opened Thursday, Jan. 23.
Part of 59th Street near National Avenue in West Allis is now a free, public ice rink.
The owners of Kegel's Inn came up with the idea to have the rink right outside their door. They took it to city leaders, who gave it the green light. The owner says it's a cool new way to celebrate winter fun.
"It is sandwiched between two restaurants, one that is 95 years old and one that is one year old," said owner Julian Kegel. "It's a great juxtaposition of new and old. Great concepts, great food, great beer and great fun."
They're expecting it to be open from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. each day.
