RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Racine County officials are looking for two suspects accused of shooting and killing ducks near the Root River dam Sunday, June 25.

Mount Pleasant police responded to the area around 10:12 a.m. after reports that two teenage boys with air rifles or BB guns were shooting ducks in the river.

The caller stated that one of the guns was a pistol and the other appeared to be an AR-styled rifle. The witness told police when he challenged the teenagers, one of them may have fired their weapon at him before fleeing the area.

Deputies responded to a similar incident at Quarry Lake Park Friday, June 23, when a witness reported a male walking in the woods with a rifle.

Officials say several people reported seeing two white males estimated to be in their 20s walking the wooded path of the quarry alongside the Root River. They said one of the men was carrying a rifle.

The man holding the rifle was described as about 6' tall with a thin build, longer black hair, shorts and a blue shirt.

A second suspect is described as a shorter white male in his 20s, wearing a T-shirt and shorts.

Witnesses said the weapon might have been an airsoft-type of rifle as it looked "shiny and plastic."

Police say a picture of one of the suspects was shared on social media and stated that the suspect shot and killed two ducks near the Horlick dam.

The sheriff's office is attempting to identify these two suspects.

Anyone with information regarding either incident, or who can identify the individual in the photo, is asked to contact Investigator Vogt at 262-636-3775.
