RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Don Wadewitz, Vice President of Marketing with the Racine Raiders joined us in studio to talk about some upcoming events, including a big fundraiser. 

The Racine Raiders will hold their annual Spring Fling Meat, Cash, and Basket Raffle and Silent Auction on Saturday, April 29, from 3-7 pm, at The Lanes on 20 / Angry Brothers Pub & Grill. The fundraiser is the largest annual fundraiser for the team. There is an ongoing meat raffle with meats courtesy of Danny’s Meats. There’s a new package every 20-30 minutes. In addition, there are several baskets donated by businesses and themed baskets as part of a separate raffle. Some donated baskets will come from Level Up Racine Gaming Lounge, The Dish Restaurant, Heather Davis - Pampered Chef, Starbucks, and many more.

There will also be silent auction items from the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, and Jersey Mike’s Subs. Players and dance and cheer team members will be there. The Racine Raiders will kick off their 70th season with on Saturday, May 13 against the Baltimore Lightning. It’s D.W. Davies Education Appreciation Night. The Raiders are inviting cheer and poms teams from the area high schools to perform and recognizing their scholarship recipients at halftime. In addition, the local high schools East of I-94 have a chance to win a $500 unrestricted donation to their school by selling the most digital tickets through the Raiders online ticketing system. The Raiders will then host the Capital City Seahawks out of the D.C. area on Saturday, May 20. Both games start at 7 pm with gates opening at 5:30 pm at Historic Horlick Athletic Field in Racine. Free parking is available with space for tailgating and a full concessions menu is available inside the stadium.
